for ministry come in all sizes! Where there's a heart to give . . . Imagine being a church planter in a remote area of tribal people. Imagine going to people who have never heard the Gospel message and telling them, one by one, the story of Jesus. It is something most of us can only imagine. But it is happening, and we can help! Right now there are three areas that need a place for new believers to gather. The first step is to secure a plot of ground so a 'tent' of poles and palm branches can become the meeting place. Three plots have become available, one for $1808, another for $1063 and a third for $957. They are in three different locations. Would you or your church purchase a plot of ground for a new church? Bathroom scales $11, anyone? Did you know a simple bathroom scale like you probably own will let a blind person in India have a way to earn for food? As he or she sits on the street with a scale, an occasional passer will stop and weigh for a small fee. The blind person's dignity is maintained and perhaps he or she can eat that day. Only $11.00 in US money will purchase a scale. That's about 500 India rupees, out of reach for these poor souls. Scales are given as a part of the continuing ministry in presenting the Good News about Jesus' love and forgiveness. $15 a month or $180 a year will provide for a child in a Christian home. There is room for more when there is enough money available. Hundreds of bright young hungry children are waiting. We will gladly receive monthly or one-time gifts, or gifts at any frequency in any amount. Remember how Jesus noticed the widow's tiny mite? $95 will pay for a week of Vacation Bible School for children of a city slum. People who eke out a meager existence in common-wall dirt floor hovels, no conveniences like water, power or sanitary facilities, living elbow to elbow with hundreds like themselves, need Jesus. Little children born there have souls. They are precious in His sight and in the sight of India missionaries who go day after day into harms way to reach them with the message of hope. We had over 6,000 children and adults attend from 26 different slums this summer. Many came to Christ! $4500 is the balance needed to purchase a large van for Destitute Welfare Centre. This large ministry has a 50-child orphanage, 3-year evangelist training Bible College, 15 full time or bi-vocational pastors, many churches scattered over 50 miles, a church planting ministry, and much more. The only vehicle is a motorbike. Please help! $2 and eight cents will to provide a white cane to a blind person. Would it bless Jesus for someone to share with a few blind people? Remember, the missionaries that give out the canes also give out the Gospel. At least four people would be blessed -- the blind person, the missionary, Jesus and you! (And you can add us here at Reaching Out to the list!!) $150 is the average expense of an evangelistic campaign in a rural village of southern India. The intent is to plant churches where there are none. By August this year there had been money for three. These are usually open air night meetings from a makeshift platform with seating on the ground. From those who respond to Christ's invitation, new churches are formed. There were 263 and 270 and 160 unsaved people who called upon Him for salvation in three campaigns. The need is for funds to do this monthly. Talk about opportunity...! $80 a month or $960 a year will keep a missionary pastor on the field in the villages and tribal areas. He will work with others in planting churches, teaching new believers, assisting in evangelical campaigns and aiding the poor. We can furnish a name, picture and biographical sketch for you or your church if you want it. $400 will cover the monthly salaries for 9 teachers at Evangelical Bible College. These are mainly well-trained and seasoned pastors who give their services to teach young God-called men and women the deeper truths of God's Word and prepare them as the future evangelists and pastors in India. $65 will purchase a moderate quality bicycle. Several are needed for new mission areas where churches have been planted and missionaries are walking. $2500 is needed for a new kitchen at the children's home. All the indoor space has been used to house the increasing number of needy children being received. A makeshift tent of coconut branches outdoors is presently the cooking area for 57 children and 6 caregivers. $8500 will pay for adding another floor and related expansion to the growing missionary training Bible College building. How can we turn away young men and women who are willing to commit their lives to reach their countrymen with the Gospel? Please help so we won't have to. These are a few of the needs, varied so anyone with the desire to help can do so.
